When I raise funds for a company I invariably enhance their board by adding a non-executive chairman, a heavyweight finance director and usually one or two non-executive directors with industry specific experience. Usually these directors come on board with an investment circa £50k to £150k to ensure they have an equity stake in the company and this stake can very often be increased with additional share options or warrants that can be earned over period of time. Opportunities that currently exist are in Internet / web based businesses, education, property, fast food, comedy, leisure, flood protection, optical and seminar promotion.
