1) You can start up a consultancy business without capital.
This is possible to do, but having some capital, even a tiny amount, can be of great gain. Add an element of clout and credibility by having some capital available to you.

2) No selling involved.
Consultancy is a service that one SELLS to other people, firms or companies. If you have the rapport, empathy, personable skills and like-ability factor, then you will more than likely make the sale then those that do not have the skills. However, not having those skills mentioned previously, is not the end of the world, as they are skills that can be learned. As small business coach Ron Holland says, ” good salesmen are much much better consultants than people who can’t sell the job”.

3) Consultancy can’t be sold over the telephone.
This is possible and happens all the time. Many big consultancy firms who have call centres with phone operators do so to make that first point of contact, and having the articulation, the firm grasp of your niche and a good sales pitch ability, means that the sale can be completed over the telephone.

4) Become a consultant and the big money will come flooding in.
There are many consultants who do a fantastic job but do not earn fees which are reflective of all that hard work. Simply becoming a consultant does not entitle one to the big bucks. Finding that niche that you can add value to, brings joy and is profitable is the secret.

5) The market is saturated.
With the consultancy business worth 12 billion a year, and growing here in the UK, there is plenty of room for existing and new consultants. Another secret , however, is to find your own particular, specific niche.

6) No travel involved.
If you are not willing to travel to clients who have been qualified, then remember that there will be other consultants who would be willing to. However, the prospect of travelling the world as part of your consultancy can be quite exciting, meeting new people, cultures and places, although this may not always be the case.

7) Anybody can do it.
This is both true and false. You may be wondering , after having set up your consultancy business, why big money, even smaller, is not coming in. It may be because of your “tool kit”. This would be things like your mindset or your presentation skills. These would need to be developed and up-to scratch, If they are not so already, allowing your consultancy to be more marketable. Anybody can do consultancy, but a plan and focused thought is required .

You can only earn big fat fees if you work for one of the big top 6 consultancy firms.
This is untrue as it is very possible to make the money you want in niche market consultancy. There are people who have made millions in such consultancy.

9) You need back up staff, support and back office people. This is something that is not true as it is more than possible to do many things on your own. Obviously, having this can lead to improved business growth, but definitely do consider whether having this support structure in place is increasing/draining your overheads. Perhaps a high overhead cost could be a result of something like back room support, and a exercise in cost cutting my be needed.

10) Accountants make good consultants.
This is not necessarily true for all accountants, but the ones that do well are those that having honed their accountancy skills, have also hone other relevant skills. This therefore makes them ideal consultants.

11) It’s impossible to get into big companies if your a small consultancy practice.
The practice of warm recommendations, due to things such as social media , plays a big part in helping you get connections with those important people, not just the “gatekeepers”, so to say.

12) Sex matters.
It matters not, women, like men, can make for brilliant consultants. The key to remember is to play to your strengths, and look for those opportunities, regardless to who you are.

13) Age matters.
Again this is similar to point 12, the skills, attributes and what the person brings matters the most. Perhaps, one thing to consider, if you are a young person , getting a mentor maybe ideal, to give you that boost not only in business but also in life.

….my visualizations aren’t working!

Hi Ron,
What I am trying to get at is $250 to $300 a day via Clickbank plus $5k a month in my paypal account, all generated online.
Instead of drilling down, I find my mind wandering off to any far-flung corner as long as it hasn’t got much to do with money.
There is definitely some avoidance scheme going on. I have no idea how I can get a handle on it. It is something I don’t see, hidden in my blind spot. And because I don’t see it I can’t deal with it. Please help John Coombes, CA

Here are a few ideas:
Visualise and apply the following:
What you are spending the $5-6k a month on. See yourself making those purchases. Try to actually feel how great it is to pay the rent and bills and maybe some extras out of earned cash flow and revenues.
Also make list of maybe about ten products you have floating around both consciously and subconsciously and play around with your visualizations ‘seeing’ which one of those really surfaces as the product you want to write, build and develop.
Visualise some great copy that you yourself actually write. Write this up, polish it and visualize lots of people sending you money. THEN develop the product to suit the copy.
If what you are doing is not working, all you’ll get is more of the same, so DO SOMETHING DRAMATICALLY DIFFERENT with your visualizations and your mind!
Spend a little time playing around with visualizations that are nothing to do with the Internet. I still think off-line activities may prove to bring in the $6k a month – or maybe a combination of online and offline. Don’t get stuck in a tunnel vision mode of something – especially if it isn’t working. Snap out of it! You can come back to ‘Internet Riches’ once you have started generating cash flow from other actives, then you’ll be coming from a position of strength
Since you have an aversion to ‘visualizing money’ try visualizing some great fun activities, luxuries and products and things that you want for yourself and family.
Read The Eureka! Enigma again and again. It is not a book to be read once, it needs to be studied!
Speak soon, kind regards,
Ron

The Eureka! Enigma, has brought with it a deluge of thanks you letters, enquires and requests for further help. This is typical and through this blog I will try to answer as many questions as possible…

Ron,
I have followed your philosophy for many, many years. I have had more eurekas than I can count, and some were VERY BIG ideas. However I am struggling with the action side of things, and find my self destruct mode still comes to the fore no matter how hard I try to act on my visualisations. Is there anything I can do to ensure that my activity levels are high and constantly moving me toward my goals. Those snakes are always ambushing me!! Jason Kendrick MA

To my mind this is a very articulate letter and raises quite a few issues, that I feel if addressed properly and honestly will answer this type of question. My first point is did the BIG ideas just come or did they come as a result of deliberate programming of the biocomputer? Once the BIG idea came, as with any BIG idea you need to break it down into the small of components, the same as Alan Turing used to do with Algorithms, until they it can be no further divided. Once you have broken it down you then need to visualise the smaller components.

You already know that I love the expression ‘If you keep doing what you are doing you’re going to get more of the same. Some serious analysis of what you are doing needs to be done and then you need to alter both your conscious thinking and biocomputer thinking (subconscious thinking) dramatically. A good starting point would be to set one relatively small goal and focus on this with all the ‘visualization power’ you can muster, until you have impregnated the neurons in your biocomputer at a cellular level and try to materialize one small goal. You’ll know when you have inserted this program properly because you’ll start getting Colossus Output, ideas that really do work and can be implemented with the resources that you already have to hand. The right idea always bring with it the impetus to action because the right idea is so obviously right and simple to implement. The key objective here is to prove to yourself you can program and make your biocomputer work at will, creating Eurekas! on Demand. It sounds to me as though you have read the book but not studied it. Once you really study it you’ll realize this is a step-by-step guide for unravelling the exact same problem that you describe. Hope this helps – speak soon!

Feel Great! Feel Empowered! Feel Good! Feel Strong! Feel Fantastic! Feel Everything!

Many people live their entire lives blocking out their feelings because they have been hurt or don’t want to be let down. They live lives of quite desperation. However, with a little effort you can block out negative feelings and deliberately train yourself to flood your neurons, at a cellular level, with positive emotions. I never said it was easy, but it’s a trick you can play on the mind. The more you practice the habit, the more positive thoughts you create in your mind and eventually thinking positively happens automatically. The Eureka! Enigma philosophy is unique in so far as it shows how, in great detail, to harness both negative and positive emotions. On another topic, did you see the Mail on Sunday at the weekend? Big article about Michael Kraftman (Getoptics) who is now the biggest retailer of contact lenses online in the UK. (100,000 customers) I helped Michael raise his first £1.5 million some time back. Great success story – for both of us! In all the time I have known Michael, I have never seen him think negatively, despite having to go through many hoops of fire.

Many of my workshop attendees don’t really set goals. They think they do, they know they should; but when we drill down, deep down, they begin realize they haven’t. They have often read all the books and done all the workshops. But it’s only when they have completed the Enigma training that they wake up and realise the biocomputer doesn’t even boot up until it has absolute specific goals. The mind is teleological –meaning it is goal seeking. The minute you set goals your brain becomes alive and starts working like a computer. As well as being driven toward your goals, you’ll be happier for it too! Set some goals today and prove to yourself that you can get a rich supply of ideas and solutions from your biocomputer. When you starting getting ‘Colossus Output’ on a regular basis, you’re then ready to set larger goals. Go for it!

When I left the UK in 1979 to live in the USA I had a plan to publish Talk & Grow Rich. I remember getting three rejections very quickly, more or less on arrival and was sitting on Santa Monica pier feeling quite sorry for myself. A well dressed gentleman sat next to me and started chatting, he wanted to know why I look so depressed. I told him of my plight and he chuckled. “Three rejection slips! You haven’t even started yet! In actual fact, I don’t think you really tried! When you have had a hundred or two hundred or even three hundred rejection slips you can say you tried. But long before then, if that does happen, I hope you’ll alter your strategy.” Of course he was right, and as they say, the rest is history. If you keep on keeping on – you create your own breaks. The Eureka! Enigma maybe just the wealth-creating, life-changing break you have been searching for!

Years ago a bank manager turned me down for a loan. He could see I was desperate and he leaned across the table and said, “You gotta get out and there do it – yourself for yourself.” Best advice I ever got – really. At that point I stopped relying on loans, banks and anyone else I was relying on to create MY success. My new philosophy revolved around making money not borrowing money. Circumventing every person and indeed every situation that got in my way of ME making money. That’s where mind power comes in, your own biocomputer is the one resource you can rely on to get you where you want to go…use it don’t abuse it! And don’t forget, program it for success on a daily basis!

Years ago, when I was a young man, I received phone call from a good buddy. He knew I was a consummate salesman and proceeded to tell me all about this new device that was beginning to take off, called a fax machine. He told me I could make a fortune because every office and many homes would just have to have one. Apparently it allowed you to send letters and mail over the telephone lines. As he said those very words I looked down at the twisted wires leading into my phone. They were all knotted and curly and right then and there I just ‘knew’ it would never work. I just couldn’t imagine a letter coming down those wires…no matter how hard you tried. Needless to say, a few years later in an office somewhere in London I witnessed a twenty-page fax coming through a fax machine and an immediate response being faxed back. I realised that my friend was right, I could have made millions. I never got the full story. What a rude awaking! These days I hear about tweeting, social media, FaceBook and posting articles on the web and I’m all ears. I listen to people, buy the books and try to get ahead of the game! Have you got the full story about The Eureka! Enigma? I just heard through the grapevine that BNI, the world’s largest business referal network are going to be pushing the book out to their 200,000 strong network. Yippee!!
